{"id":6748,"date":"2019-01-21T15:00:21","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T20:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=6748"},"modified":"2019-01-21T15:00:45","modified_gmt":"2019-01-21T20:00:45","slug":"wcdo-news-monday-1-21-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-monday-1-21-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS MONDAY 1-21-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Law Enforcement agencies in Delaware County are searching for 23 year old Cody Conkling, who was last seen Sunday afternoon on Parker Hollow Road in the town of Unadilla.\u00a0 Conkling is described as 23 years old, White, with Brown Hair, Blue eyes &amp; a beard, he was wearing a Gray flannel shirt, Jeans , work Boots &amp; a hat, he is 6&#8217;1&#8243; tall, weighs about 190 pounds,\u00a0 Anyone with information is asked to contact state Police at Troop C at 561-7400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 3 people on\nburglary charges following a vehicle pursuit Thursday.&nbsp; Norwich City Police officers were first\ninvolved in the pursuit into the Town of Norwich, Sheriff\u2019s Deputies &amp;\nState Police then attempted to stop a Subaru operated by 24 year old Dakota\nDavenport after he was clocked at 101 mph on County Road 32.&nbsp;&nbsp; Davenport and front seat passenger 36 year\nold Zane Marvin continued to McDonough, they are accused of throwing saws,\nclothing, gun cases, and BB guns from the vehicle.&nbsp;&nbsp; Davenport stopped in the Town of McDonough\nand fled on foot, 26 year old Macey Newkirk and Marvin were taken into custody.&nbsp;&nbsp; Davenport was eventually located &amp; was\ntaken into custody.&nbsp; All 3 were charged\nwith Burglary and Reckless Endangerment. Davenport was charged with additional\nTraffic Violations; they were arraigned in the Town of Oxford Court and were\nremanded to the custody of the Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced a proposal that would protect New\nYorkers from unknown exposure to toxic chemicals: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo 1-21-18)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8220;Consumer Right to Know Act&#8221; would authorize\nthe DEC &amp; the State Health Department &amp; the Department of State to\ndevelop regulations establishing on-package labeling requirements for\ndesignated products indicating the presence of potentially hazardous chemicals,\nincluding carcinogens.&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to a change in the House of Representatives voting\nschedule, 22<sup>nd<\/sup> district Congressman Anthony Brindisi has rescheduled\nhis Binghamton town hall at American Legion, 39 Louisa Street in Binghamton,\nfor this Saturday at 4:00 PM.&nbsp; In place\nof the originally scheduled town hall, Congressman Brindisi will hold a\ntelephone town hall from his Washington, D.C. office on Tomorrow at 7:35 pm,\nconstituents can participate by calling 855-614-0159.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nOneonta Police Department is holding special education sessions for community\nmembers about emergency preparedness in the event of an active shooter in a\npublic place.&nbsp; Classes will be held on Tuesday\nfrom &nbsp;11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Classroom 1\nat FoxCare Center, or on Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in Classroom 1 at\nFoxCare Center.&nbsp; The program is free and\nopen to all who are interested, more information is available by contacting Joe\nTiemann at the Oneonta Police Department by email <a href=\"mailto:jtiemann@oneonta.ny.us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">jtiemann@oneonta.ny.us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Wednesday is the last day\nto register for an upcoming workshop on substance abuse, targeted at business\nand community leaders of Chenango County. &nbsp;The event \u201cSubstance Abuse in the Workplace\u201d\nis being presented by Chenango Health Network, Commerce Chenango and UHS\nChenango Memorial Hospital; it will take place Thursday, January 31 at\nCanasawacta Country Club in Norwich. Breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. on the\nday of the event, with the presentation to follow at 8:30.&nbsp; Registration is available through Commerce\nChenango at 334-1400 or by email: &nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:register@chenangony.org\">register@chenangony.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tioga Downs Resort and\nCasino in Nichols received a package addressed to a casino hotel guest, which\ncontained 10 ounces of crystal methamphetamine.&nbsp;\nState Police personnel assigned to the casino detail contacted State\nPolice CNET, they identified the hotel guest as 34 year old Michael Champlin of\nCamillus, and Investigators were granted a search warrant to search Champlin\u2019s\nroom and his vehicle.&nbsp; Those searches\nlead to the seizure of additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.&nbsp; Champlin was charged with Attempted\nPossession of a Controlled Substance, he was arraigned in the Town of Nichols\nCourt, where he was remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Broome County Special\nInvestigations Unit Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant Friday\nafternoon at 32 Linden Street in the City of Binghamton, Task Force\ninvestigators Seized Cocaine, Marijuana &amp; Numerous controlled substance\nprescription pills, weapons, ammunition, $7,737.00 of suspected drug sale\nproceeds Drug packaging materials and digital scales.&nbsp; 37 year old Frederick Felton and 36 year old\nBrandy Griffin were arrested on a number of drug charges, they were being held\nfor future court action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New York State\u2019s celebration of\nthe life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held on January 21,\n2019 at 9 a.m. in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
