{"id":6631,"date":"2018-11-23T14:35:07","date_gmt":"2018-11-23T19:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=6631"},"modified":"2018-11-23T14:35:07","modified_gmt":"2018-11-23T19:35:07","slug":"wcdo-news-friday-11-23-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-friday-11-23-18\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS FRIDAY 11-23-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Otsego County Sheriff\u2019s Department announced the arrest of 2 men on multiple charges after a joint investigation by his Office and the NYS DEC Police in the Town of Middlefield. 22 year old Dylan Kingsley of Rome &amp; 23 year old Nathanial Smoot of Statesville, North Carolina were charged with illegally taking of a deer, possession of a loaded weapon in a vehicles, trespassing &amp; hunting without a license among other charges, for allegedly hunting illegally on private land in the Town of Middlefield. Kingsley is accused of illegally shooting a deer while Smoot is accused of hunting without a license. Both were arraigned in the Town of Middlefield Court &amp; face action at a later date.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nOtsego County Sheriff&#8217;s department arrested 44 year old Bradley Ganio of Laurens, for 3rd degree Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing &amp; Harassment, following a recent domestic dispute. Ganio was arraigned and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Laurens Court at a later date.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nTomorrow is Small Business Saturday, Steve Craig of Commerce Chenango comments:<\/p>\n<p>(Steve Craig 11-23-18)<\/p>\n<p>Small businesses donate 250% more than larger businesses to non-profits and community causes, Statistics show that if you spend $100 at a local business, roughly $68 stays in your local economy. If you spend the same are a large business, only $43 stays in the local economy<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nState Police arrested 21 year old Timothy Johns of Greene for Aggravated DWI with a reportable BAC of .21%. Troopers responded to a report of a one car accident on State Route 206 in the town of Greene, where Johns was accused of operating the vehicle when he struck a guide rail and became stuck, Johns was released to a sober 3rd party and will appear in the town of Greene Court on December 6th.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nBainbridge Town Hall Theatre &amp; Gallery &amp; the Jericho Arts Council presents the Kevin Prater band Saturday at 7:00 PM. Ticket Reservations are available at 288-3882; tickets will also be available at the Box Office prior to the show.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>State Police arrested 25 year old Jeffrey Gurnee of Afton for Sexual Abuse following an investigation of an alleged sex abuse several years ago where Gurnee allegedly inappropriately touched a child under the age of 14, &amp; a child under the age of 11 on another occasion. Gurnee was arraigned in the town of Afton Court; he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. An order of protection was issued for each victim<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br \/>\nChenango County Sheriff&#8217;s Department arrested a 15 year old juvenile for Arson and Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, following an investigation into 3 fires over a 4 day period at 993 County Road 3 in the Town of Smithville earlier this month. 1 of the fires killed 25 goats &amp; other livestock. The juvenile was arraigned in Chenango County Family Court and remanded to a juvenile facility.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br \/>\nThe Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 1st Small Business Saturday \u201cHoliday Shop Saturday\u201d Tomorrow as part of Small Business Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 pm at the Afton Central School.
