\nState police arrested Charles Walsh of Sidney on charges of assault, criminal nuisance & unlawful possession of a firearm, & criminal possession of marijuana following an investigation into a domestic dispute in the village of Sidney. Walsh is accused of striking a person & burning a telephone cord to prevent that victim from calling police. Walsh was arraigned & remanded to the Delaware county jail on $5,000 cash bail pending future court action.

\nState Police arrested 57 year old David Bailey of Sidney on charges of sexual abuse, & endangering the welfare of a child. Bailey is accused of inappropriately touching a child, and sending inappropriate messages to the same child on social media, he was arraigned & was sent to the Delaware County jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond pending future court action.

\n17 year old Michael Stimpson of Laurens was indicted by an Otsego County Grand Jury on 4 counts of 1st degree sexual abuse. Stimpson is accused of inappropriately touching a child under the age of 11; he faces arraignment on the charges shortly.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has a 51-44% favorability rating among likely general election voters, according to the latest Sienna Poll. Cuomo leads Republican Marcus Molinaro by a 56-37%, Among Democrats, Cuomo leads Cynthia Nixon 61-26%. Nixon leads Molinaro by a 46-35% margin.

\nThe state Department of Health paid $1.28 billion in unnecessary Medicaid managed care premiums over a nearly six-year period for enrollees who already had private insurance, according to an audit by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. About $70.6 million of the premiums were paid to MCOs that were related through some form of ownership to the 3rd-party insurer. DiNapoli recommended DOH: Improve monitoring efforts to prevent and recover the premiums; Implement controls to remove those recipients with 3rd-party health insurance; & Review the managed care premiums, and recover unnecessary payments.
