The Otsego County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 35 year old Robert Guitierrez of Oneonta for allegedly performing sexual acts with a 14 year old female in the town of Milford. Gutierrez is charged with 2nd degree rape & endangering the welfare of a child, He was arraigned in the Town of Otsego Court and was sent to the Otsego County Jail on $2,000 cash bail, he posted bail & is scheduled to appear in the Town of Otsego Court Wednesday.

\nAfton Firefighters are credited with avoiding an escalation of a fire Monday afternoon in a storage garage behind Interstate Batteries on Route 7 in Afton. The fire was reported at about 2:00 PM & was under control in about 20 minutes. The Investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. No injuries were reported.
