Governor Cuomo’s staff will announce the boundaries of the tax-free zones for the program StartUp NY shortly.\u00a0 The program erases all taxes for businesses willing to start up on SUNY campuses, some private campuses and some land near colleges. More information is available at startup-ny.com.<\/p>\n

Governor Cuomo announced that 17 counties would compete\u00a0for more than $13 million to fund efforts to reduce firearm-related\u00a0crimes, shootings, and homicides through the state’s new Gun Involved\u00a0Violence Elimination (GIVE) initiative. The initiative is designed to\u00a0build upon the crime-fighting successes those jurisdictions experienced\u00a0while participating in Operation IMPACT, locally, Broome County has been involved previously in Operation Impact.<\/span><\/p>\n
