NEWS FRIDAY 1-31-14"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Governor Cuomo announced today that the New York State Police would join other law enforcement agencies, across the state, in a special effort to crackdown on impaired and distracted driving during Super Bowl Weekend. The statewide STOP-DWI and Texting-While-Driving Crackdown efforts will start on January 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and will run through February 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0\u00a0 State Police will be collaborating with County Sheriff and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of alcohol related and distracted driving injuries and deaths.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Department of Agriculture and Markets is not keeping up with the demands of its inspection schedule, allowing thousands of food-related businesses to operate without updated inspections, according to an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.osc.state.ny.us\/audits\/allaudits\/093014\/13s27.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">audit<\/a> by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.\u00a0 Auditors found that as of June 4<sup>th<\/sup> inspections that were due for almost 5,000 establishments had not been completed.
