Heady was taken into custody without incident; he was taken to the Town of Columbus Court &amp; remanded on $1,000 cash bail pending future court action.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Overtime earnings at state agencies rose to a record $611 million in 2013, a 16% increase compared to 2012, according to a report by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. The measure took effect Monday; it requires all birthing facilities to administer the screening. The American Heart Association lobbied for the law, they reported that nearly 1 in 100 babies born each year have a congenital heart condition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>The state department of taxation and finance has issued the first income tax refunds of 2014.\u00a0 The refunds were direct deposited into taxpayer bank accounts.\u00a0 All of the taxpayers who got refunds yesterday used the department&#8217;s new web file service, which allows state tax returns to be prepared and e-filed online for free.\u00a0 The department is urging New Yorkers to use web file to file their state returns.\u00a0 There is no income limit to use the service.\u00a0 More information is available at tax.ny.gov<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>37-year-old Brian Hime of Binghamton was sentenced yesterday on federal drug charges for conspiracy to traffic narcotics, possession with intent to distribute and illegal firearms possession.\u00a0 Hime was arrested In September 2012 when Police served a search warrant at his home on Liberty Street in Binghamton; they confiscated 6 ounces of cocaine, $3,400 cash, a rifle, and handgun ammunition.
