Governor Cuomo wants to eliminate the corporate income tax for manufacturers in upstate New York as part of a tax plan he plans to detail in his State of the State address tomorrow.\u00a0 Cuomo wants to reduce the corporate\u00a0 tax rate from 7.1% to 6.5%. For manufacturers, Cuomo proposed funding a 20% property-tax credit, while reducing the corporate income-tax rate to zero for those located upstate. Cuomo\u2019s plan also calls for tying property taxes to a homeowner\u2019s income level and ability to pay.<\/p>\n

The Village of Earlville has called an \u201cInformation Gathering Meeting\u201d tonight, regarding \u201cLocal Law #1 of 2007\u201d, a law that banned the ownership of non-domesticated animals in the village limits.\u00a0 The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at the Village Office located at the 8 North Main Street.\u00a0 The village board has been involved in a long-running dispute with former congressional candidate Michael Kicinski & his desire to raise chickens at his property within the village of Earlville.<\/p>\n
