The Norwich Fire Department battled a fire Friday at a storage unit complex on County route 32 in the Town of Norwich.\u00a0 The call was received\u00a0at 8:00 am<\/a>\u00a0for smoke coming from storage lockers at The Storage Center;\u00a0Mutual aid was received from North Norwich, Plymouth, Sherburne and South New Berlin, with Oxford Fire Department on stand-by.\u00a0 The Chenango County Toys for Tots program lost toys in Friday\u2019s fire, the cause is currently under investigation by the Chenango County Bureau of Fire and State Police.<\/p>\n

2 polls were released last week show that more people across the state are against fracking for natural gas than are in favor of it.\u00a0 A Marist poll shows that 47%\u00a0are against fracking while 37%\u00a0support it, with upstate opposition Upstate at 53%.\u00a0 A Quinnipiac Poll had 46%\u00a0of people opposed to fracking while 44% favor it.\u00a0 Governor Cuomo has said that a decision on fracking will be made before next year’s election; The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York is ready to file a lawsuit against the Governor over the delay.<\/p>\n
