State Police are investigating a hunting fatality Saturday in the Town of Westford.\u00a0 52-year-old Charles Bruce of Franklin Square, was shot in the chest and died at the scene Saturday morning,\u00a0near Steve Braun Road.\u00a0 State police, along with the Otsego County District Attorney’s Office and the State DEC are investigating.<\/p>\n

38-year-old Geneia Rood of Pitcher has a court hearing today, Rood is accused of causing the death of a 3-month-old girl she was babysitting.\u00a0 Rood was charged with 2nd<\/sup> degree manslaughter after an autopsy showed alcohol was in the child\u2019s system, the child\u2019s death was ruled a homicide. Rood was sent to the Chenango County jail on $50,000 bail<\/p>\n<\/div>\n ———————————-<\/p>\n Human remains found in a wooded area in the town of Chenango have been identified as 54-year-old Paul Terwilliger, who was a sex abuse suspect who disappeared after posting bail.\u00a0\u00a0 Hunters found Terwilliger\u2019s decomposed remains Saturday morning; his body was identified by dental records.\u00a0 Terwilliger was charged last April with 1st<\/sup> degree sexual conduct against a child. He was jailed after his arrest but was later released on bail, he was reported missing in May, a suicide note was found during the course of the missing person investigation.<\/p>\n ————————————-<\/p>\n 33-year-old Samantha Stone of Waverly was sentenced in Broome County Court Friday to 12 years to life in prison, for sexually abusing girls through a dance studio that she owned in Binghamton.\u00a0 Binghamton police arrested Stone in 2011, for 2 counts of 1st<\/sup> degree sexual abuse, a grand jury indicted Stone for 2 \u00a0counts of predatory sexual assault against a child.<\/p>\n ——————————–<\/p>\n State Police & the Otsego County and State Fire Investigation Teams, are investigating a fatal structure fire Saturday morning at 40 Walnut Street in Richfield Springs.
