Binghamton Police arrested Kyle Wood of Binghamton on 2 outstanding Arrest Warrants for 1st<\/sup> & 2nd<\/sup> degree Assault.\u00a0 Wood is accused of striking 2 people with a samurai sword on October 27th<\/sup> in the City of Binghamton, during a disturbance. Police stated that one victim underwent emergency surgery at Lourdes Hospital, with his fingers almost severed in the attack.\u00a0 Binghamton police are asking anyone with further information to contact them at 772-7080.<\/p>\n

The Broome County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and the Binghamton and Johnson City police departments announced the arrest of 29-year-old Alexis Howell of Endicott, on charges of 3rd<\/sup> & 4th<\/sup> degree criminal possession of a controlled substance & unlawful possession of marijuana.\u00a0 Howell is accused of possessing 537 bags containing heroin, along with 12-knotted wraps that held crack cocaine and two knotted wraps of marijuana, which was confiscated after police executed a search warrant.\u00a0 Howell arraigned and was sent to the Broome County jail without bail.<\/p>\n

Governor Cuomo today advised taxpayers to beware of solicitations offering a fee-based service to apply for the STAR property tax exemption.\u00a0 Cuomo said that the application for the STAR program is free.\u00a0 New Homeowners can register online at tax.ny.gov<\/a>\u00a0or by phone at 518-457-2036.\u00a0 The registration deadline is December 31st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

State police arrested\u00a027-year-old Robert Hissin <\/strong>of Port Crane for 2nd<\/sup> degree burglary, following an investigation into the theft of hydrocodone pills from a residence in the town of Fenton.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hissin is accused of forcing his way into a neighbor’s residence and stealing prescription medication, he was arraigned in the Fenton town court and remanded to the Broome county jail without bail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
