The Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies investigated a 1-vehicle fatal motor vehicle accident Sunday in the Town of Delhi. 18-year-old Michael Ackerman of South Kortright was operating a pick up truck Northbound on State Hwy 10 the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. Ackerman was killed in the crash; the cause of the crash is still under investigation.<\/p>\n

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted by K-9 \u201cOzzie\u201d executed a Search Warrant in the Town of Franklin Thursday, at Snake Hill Road.\u00a0 A search of the property led to the seizure of 7 marihuana plants, several drying marihuana plants, approximately one ounce of processed marihuana, a quantity of hashish, drug paraphernalia and several long guns.\u00a0\u00a0 Deputies arrested 33-year-old Lee March of Otego for Criminal Possession of Marihuana and Unlicensed Cultivation of Marihuana; he was arraigned in the Town of Hamden Court and was released on recognizance pending further court action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The legislative grant obtained by Senator Seward, included in a 2012 senate resolution, is being used to replace outdated high pressure sodium street lights with new energy-efficient LED fixtures.\u00a0 The new \u201cgreen\u201d fixtures will provide substantial energy savings for the City of Oneonta and will also reduce long-term maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
