State Police released the name of the 2nd<\/sup> fatality in the 2-car motor vehicle accident on County Route 35 in the Town of Oxford early Sunday morning.\u00a0 Police reported that 15-year-old Brandy Smith was the driver of the 2000 Ford Focus that crossed into the path of a Dodge Caravan operated by 48-year-old David Clark of Oxford.\u00a0 Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, Clark later died at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.\u00a0 7 others were taken to area hospitals for the treatment of a variety of injuries, the investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n

Governor Cuomo announced the U.S. Small Business\u00a0Administration has granted his request for a disaster declaration\u00a0for Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery and Oneida Counties following the severe storms and flooding of late June. Loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are\u00a0eligible for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property. Contiguous counties to Herkimer,\u00a0Montgomery, Madison, and Oneida are also eligible for the full SBA disaster\u00a0loan program.<\/p>\n
