Governor Cuomo today announced $1 million in funding\u00a0available to law enforcement agencies to video record criminal\u00a0interrogations.\u00a0 The grants will be available through the New York State Division of Criminal Justice\u00a0Services (DCJS), for either the purchase and\u00a0installation of video recording equipment for police departments and sheriffs’ offices that have not yet implemented the practice, or allow\u00a0agencies to upgrade older equipment to ensure it functions properly.\u00a0 More information is available at governor.ny.gov.<\/p>\n

44-year-old Samuel Parrotti of Lisle was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 5 years in federal prison, for 4-area bank Robberies last year.\u00a0 Parrotti admitted that he stole more than $37,000 in 4 separate heists in Binghamton, Whitney Point, Scranton & Sayre in July & August of last year.<\/span><\/div>\n

A group of people have been walking since Friday along state route 7 from Albany to Binghamton, to deliver a petition to the federal court house to judge Thomas McEvoy in Binghamton on July 23rd<\/sup>. the 133 mile \u201cJourney For Justice\u201d is sponsored by Project Salam, in support of Yassin Aref of Albany, whose supporters claim that he was entrapped through the efforts of the FBI in 2006, & convicted as a terrorist, and are seeking his release from prison.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Recently, Aref\u2019s attorneys filed for documents through a \u201cFreedom of Information Law\u201d request & learned about secret evidence used to misidentified Aref as an Al-Qaeda agent. State Troopers in Oneonta arrested\u00a035-year-old Dennis Brown <\/strong>of Richmond, Virginia, for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 28 in the Town of Milford; Brown was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Milford Court on August 6th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 22-year-old Nicole Curtis of Walton on a Family Court Warrant issued by County Court Judge Becker. Curtis was arraigned in Delhi Town Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await further court proceeding.<\/p>\n
