The State DOT & State Police closed I-88 between Exits 10 and 12 in both directions until further notice, A large amount of soil has eroded underneath the roadway, this is not due to a culvert collapse, but to an as yet unknown water issue. Crews from the New York State Department of Transportation are on the scene assessing the issue. Motorists are advised to follow the established detour routes on to State Route 7, Detour signage is in place to guide motorists. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available from the DOT. Motorists are urged to allow for extra travel time, and exercise caution while traveling along detour on State Route 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown will have their new season beginning tomorrow April 1st, with several displays, spokesperson Kerri Green told WCDO News about the exhibits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45 year old Travis Rifanburg of Oxford for Petty Larceny, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Promoting Prison Contraband, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Guilford, Rifanburg had a revoked drivers license and an active warrant for his arrest, he was transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office to be held for Centralized Arraignment, he was turned over to Corrections where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. Rifanburg is to appear in the Town of Norwich Court and the Town of Guilford Court at later dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced nearly $100 million in new grant funding to support projects designed to reduce flood risk and enhance community resilience to extreme weather.
