The Oneonta common council will hold their next regular meeting tonight at city hall.\u00a0 The regular meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the common council chambers, prior to that at 6:00 PM, the council will see the \u201cParks Master Plan\u201d presentation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The city of Norwich will be receiving a 4 million dollar loan and $1 million grant from the USDA\u2019s Rural Development Program to for building a new water treatment plant.\u00a0 Norwich\u2019s treatment plant has been in operation for more than a century, the funding came through a joint effort from US Senators Schumer & Gillibrand and Congressman Richard Hanna.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The New York Farm Bureau announced that the state Assembly unanimously passed the 2% Agricultural Assessment Cap previously passed by the State Senate. The bill will help rein in rising property taxes on farm properties; it goes to Governor Cuomo\u2019s desk for approval.<\/p>\n

A Binghamton man has been detained after a flight from Hong Kong to Newark airport following various outbursts.\u00a0 The man identified himself to authorities as Daniel Morgan Perry of Binghamton, Perry warned passengers regarding government agencies and Edward Snowdon, the leaker of information from the NSA, who is believed to be hiding in Hong Kong currently.\u00a0 Members of the flight crew detained Perry, he was taken to an unidentified hospital for observation, no injuries were reported, and Perry will be facing charges shortly.<\/p>\n

State Police arrested\u00a039-year-old Evelyn Augusto<\/strong> of Sandy Hook, Connecticut for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, as well as other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations after a traffic stop on State Route 30 in the Town of Middletown in Delaware County.\u00a0 Augusto was arraigned in the Town of Middletown Court and released on her own recognizance to reappear at a later date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

State comptroller Tom DiNapoli released \u201cThe Fiscal Stress Monitoring System\u201d results today, from data collected & analyzed through the end of last month.\u00a0\u00a0 The data was collected from annual financial reports submitted by local governments to DiNapoli\u2019s Office.\u00a0 Locally, Broome County ranked highest on the \u201cSusceptible for Fiscal Stress\u201d chart from 54 municipalities that have their fiscal year end on December 31st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Delaware County Fair officials today announced that there would be a 5K run at the fair this year.\u00a0 Officials said that the run will start and end on the fairgrounds, there will be a variety of prizes & giveaways.\u00a0 The cost of he event is $20 if registered by August 1st and $25 after that. State Troopers arrested\u00a022-year-old Frederick Schum <\/strong>of Binghamton for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest was the result of a complaint on Loughlin Road in Kirkwood; Schum was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Kirkwood Town Court on July 2nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 18th\u00a0annual Gus Macker 3 on 3-basketball tournament will be held in downtown Norwich the weekend of July 13th.\u00a0 Macker organizer Tom Revoir said that they are in need of volunteers known as \u201cGus Busters\u201d:<\/p>\n
