The Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 31-year-old Christopher Cox of Utica for 3rd<\/sup> degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance.\u00a0 The Sheriff\u2019s Office Narcotics Division along with the City of Norwich Police Department closed out an investigation into the sales of Heroin in the County; Cox was arraigned in the Village of Sherburne Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail. <\/p>\n

Governor Cuomo warned New Yorkers to beware of tax collection letters that appear to be government notices, but are actually solicitations from private entities.\u00a0 The deceptive notices are titled \u201cstate tax warrant notice\u201d and \u201cbank accounts and asset seizure pending.\u201d\u00a0When recipients call the toll-free number it is from a business claiming to be able to remove the debt for a fraction of the amount owed.\u00a0Anyone who believes that they have been the victim of this type of scam should contact the New York State Department of Financial Services\u2019 Consumer Help Line at 1-800-342-3736.<\/p>\n

Governor Cuomo announced that 63 programs from 36 SUNY campuses will receive more than $12 million in funding over the next three years to support workforce development in high-need career fields of Engineering, Healthcare, Renewable-Clean Energy, Biomedical-Biotechnical, Agriculture-Agriculture Business, and Information Technology.
