The trial of Dylan Robinson has begun in Otsego County Court this week.  Robinson is accused of acting with 5 others in killing his father, Kenneth Robinson of Worcester, after robbing him, and then setting his father’s house in Worcester on fire in October 2019.

71% of adult New Yorkers have completed at least 1 vaccine dose, bringing the State total to over 20.6 Million vaccines.  The State Health Department reported that 63.2% of adult New Yorkers have completed their vaccine series.  More information is available at covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/covid-19-vaccine-tracker. State Health Officials announced that the SUNY Oneonta vaccine site is also officially closed, as the rate of people getting vaccines has fallen in recent weeks.  Vaccine clinics will be of the pop up variety where vaccine rates are well lower than the state average.

NYSEG is reporting that almost all power has been restored to customers in Chenango, Delaware & Otsego Counties this afternoon.  Officials reported that over 650 lost power due to downed trees & Power Lines from last night’s storms.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24 year old Justin Mattice of Walton following a domestic dispute report in Walton June 17th.  Mattice is accused of acting in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of a child less than 17 years of age; he is also accused of damaging property during the incident.  Mattice was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief, He was arraigned in the Town of Hamden Court where an order of protection was issued and Mattice was ordered to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a future date to answer to the charges.

The State DEC announced that the 1st Free Fishing Weekend will be this weekend, June 26th & 27th.  People will be able to fish without purchasing a fishing license, other free fishing days this year will be on September 25th and November 11th, more information on New York’s “Free Fishing Days,” is available at the Governor’s website or the State DEC website.

State Police arrested 37 year old Scott Evanchof of Smithville Flats for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation & Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, after a trooper on patrol saw a motorcycle traveling on East Main Street in the Town of Union that was not registered.  A traffic stop was initiated, and the trooper learned that Evanchof’s license has been suspended 26 times.  The trooper also found suspected drugs in Evanchof’s possession.  He was arrested & was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Union court today.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Frank Briggs Road in the Town of Davenport last Tuesday, Deputies arrested and charged 27 year-old Arthur Currie of Davenport, with unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief & harassment, he is accused of preventing the victim from leaving the residence, subjecting the victim to physical contact and taking the victim’s cell phone in an attempt to prevent the victim from calling for emergency assistance.  Currie was arraigned in the Town of Kortright Court, an order of protection was issued and he was released pending an appearance in the Town of Davenport Court on a future date.

The Chenango County Health Department is hosting another Pfizer Vaccine Clinic, today at Former Norwich Label Shopper, in the South Plaza, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.  Registration is available at co.chenango.ny.us/public-health, Appointments are required, the 2nd dose will be held on July 13th at the same location, and more information is available at 337-1660.
