Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith announced that 22 year old Nalya Jimenez of Sidney appeared in Delaware County Court Monday for arraignment on a 4 count indictment for Welfare Fraud, Offering a False Instrument. Jimenez was indicted after evidence was presented to the Delaware County Grand Jury, she is accused of providing false information while applying for the SNAP benefits & concealing recurring income from several sources, she is accused of receiving about $5,600 in public benefits that she was not entitled to, she faces court action at a later date.

The 30th Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival will return to downtown Norwich in September, with many new participants and previous favorites returning, according to organizer Michele Erickson:

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that $200 million in funding is now available through the State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative and New York Forward programs. Together, the programs have awarded $1 billion in funding to 124 communities across the State since 2016. Applications are now available, the deadline to apply is October 18th, Municipalities can get more information at ny.gov/programs.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies located and arrested 27 year old Clayton Utter of Unadilla for a Bench Warrant, issued by the Town of Delhi Court for Failure to Appear in Court on a previous DWI Arrest. Utter was turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment Processing.

The Summer Concert series runs through August 28th, Wednesday nights at the corner of Division & Main Streets, the concerts get moved into the Community Cultural Center if it rains.
