Pucci said that his team will visit Walton & Delhi after their Sidney Visit, they will go on Thursday to Margaretville, Fleischmann’s, Arkville & Hobart & they will conclude the series on Friday in Hancock & Andes.

Norwich Mayor Shawn Sastri rescinded his resignation at a meeting of the Norwich Common Council, he had previously announced that he would resign & wanted to become the city’s Youth Bureau Director instead.  The common Council tabled their Youth Director appointment to Sastri, and he will continue to serve as mayor until the end of the year.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at State Highway 10 and County Highway 26 in the Town of Hamden on June 27th.  Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 47 year-old James Eriksen of Delhi, a routine DMV inquiry revealed that Eriksen’s drivers’ license was revoked in 1996 for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.  Eriksen was charged aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign; he was released to appear in the Town of Hamden Court on a later date.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45 year old Jaime Crowley of Windsor, following a deputy-involved shooting in the Town of Windsor.  Crowley surrendered himself to authorities after he was released from the hospital, he was charged with Aggravated possession of a weapon, 6 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, 2 counts of menacing a police officer & Reckless endangerment.   Deputies responded on July 3rd to a report of shots fired at a car making a K-turn at a residence on Cascade Valley Road, when deputies arrived, Crowley was pointing a handgun at officers, they demanded Crowley drop the weapon multiple times before they shot him in the shoulder, Crowley fired 1 round back, no deputies were injured. Crowley was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility pending future court action.

Governor Cuomo today signed legislation that will allow restaurants to utilize municipal spaces like sidewalks and streets for outdoor dining; it will allow restaurants to continue using these public spaces for another year as they recover from the economic devastation brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Restaurant usage of outdoor public space must meet all federal, state, and local laws, they must also have a temporary use permit from the municipality, which is tasked with ensuring the public space is used in a safe, orderly manner.

Governor Cuomo signed legislation holding gun manufacturers liable for the harm their products cause and closing a loophole that allowed people with outstanding warrants for their arrest to purchase guns.  Under this new legislation, gun manufacturers cannot endanger the safety and health of the public through the sale, manufacturing, importing or marketing of the products they sell. The products can be considered a public nuisance even if the gun manufacturer did not purposely cause harm to the public.  Governor Cuomo also issued an executive order declaring a disaster emergency on gun violence in the state of New York.

NYSEG is responding after high winds, heavy rain and lightning associated with thunderstorms disrupted service to customers on Tuesday; about 150 were without power late this morning in Delaware, Chenango & Otsego Counties.

State Police responded to a report of a 92-year-old male who was missing in the town of Unadilla on Sheep Pen Road.  The unidentified man disappeared Monday, Troopers were assisted by Forest Rangers, Sidney EMS, Unadilla Fire Department and neighbors, Trooper Darrell Dening and his K9 partner Kin were able to track the man and located him shortly after 4:00 PM yesterday, about a mile and a half away from his residence. he was unable to make it back after falling down a hill; he was taken to A.O. Fox Hospital for treatment.
