State Police arrested 24 year old Jesse Adams of Maryland, New York for 3 counts of 3rd Degree Assault 3rd degree, after troopers were advised of a series of physical assaults at a home on Dog Hill Road in the Town of Maryland. Adams is accused of assaulting his Girlfriend 3 times the last 8 months causing injuries. Adams was arraigned in Town of Milford court and was released without bail required; an order of protection was placed against Adams.

The package of 3 bills calls for the elimination of insurance Barriers To increase access to treatment, increases evaluation For those incapacitated by opioids from 48 to 72-HOUrs, reduces prescription limits for Opioids from 30 to 7 days, requires education for physicians on pain management, mandates pharmacists to provide easy to understand information on the risks associated with Opioid pain medications and requires data to be collected on overdoses & prescriptions to assist the state in fighting the epidemic.

State Police announced the recovery of the body of 9-year-old Dylan Giangregorio Tuesday. Police said that the boy was presumed to have drowned when he and six family members were swept over a waterfall at Letchworth State Park, the body of his 6-year-old brother Preston was recovered Sunday. 5 other family members were rescued & were taken to area hospitals, State Police reported that the family of 7 left a designated trail and entered the water above the falls illegally.

The State Tax Department reminds quarterly and monthly sales tax vendors to avoid penalties and interest by filing their returns on or before Monday, June 20th. New York State has more than 536,000 sales tax filers, including about 227,000 quarterly filers and 49,000 monthly filers. In the 2015 calendar year, sales tax payments totaled more than $28 billion, which is revenue shared by the State with the counties or cities where the sales transactions occurred.

Matthews Ford of Norwich has announced their 11th annual Mustang rally for July 9th, coinciding with the Annual Gus Macker Basketball Tournament in Norwich. Matthews Spokesperson Kathy Breno explains:

State DOT announced that construction work for the Prospect Mountain construction project will be performed and will require lane closures in the City of Binghamton. Today & tomorrow from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, I-81 north/State Route 17 west will have periodic, alternating lane closures between Exit 3 and the I-81/SR-17. Also, today through Friday, June 17 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Glenwood Avenue will have periodic, alternating lane closures for asbestos abatement work on the State Route 17 West Bridge over Glenwood Avenue. Flag personnel will guide alternating traffic through the work zone.
