Governor Cuomo held his daily Coronavirus briefing at the new LaGuardia Airport in Queens today, he was asked about the possibility of schools reopening in the fall:

Several regions in the state moved into Phase 2 of the Reopening this week, & the expectation is that the Southern Tier Region & other upstate regions could enter into Phase 3 by the end of the week or into the weekend.  Commerce Chenango President & CEO Kerri Green told WCDO what businesses could re-open:

The State Health Department announced that they are reporting over 380,000 cases of the Coronavirus since early March, the rate of people testing positive is slightly over 1% state wide.  The death toll is up to 24,404.

Chenango County Public Health announced a 6th death from the Coronavirus today.  They report a total of 135 cases, 2 patients are hospitalized, 69 are quarantined, 124 have recovered, and about 6400 tests have been conducted.

The Unadilla Flag Day Parade has been rescheduled, on Sunday June 14th at 6:30 PM.  The parade has been changed into a Drive-By Parade, and the public is welcome to attend, & they must abide by Social Distancing Guidelines & wear a face mask.  The procession will start at the Unadilla Elementary School & will continue to the I-88 Interchange with State Route 7, there will be no Flag Day Ceremony at the Community Field this year.

New York State Supreme Court Justice Michael Coccoma of Cooperstown will retire at the end of the month, after a lengthy career on the bench.  Coccoma served as the Otsego County District Attorney, Otsego County Court judge, before becoming a State Supreme Court judge, spending 10 years as the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for courts outside of New York City.

Organizers for the annual Oneonta Hometown 4th of July Festival has been cancelled; organizers expect that it will be able to resume in 2021.

State Senator Fred Akshar will be taking his Town Hall Meetings online to talk with local leaders and constituents in the 52nd Senate District. The Virtual Town Hall will be held today at 6:00 PM; Residents who would like to participate are asked to register at Akshar.NYSenate.Gov.

The State Police will target speeding and aggressive drivers during a special weeklong traffic enforcement initiative, starting Thursday through Wednesday, June 17th.  Troopers will also actively patrol highway work zones and will target drivers who violate New York’s “Move Over” Law.

Delaware County is reporting 1 new case of COVID-19 and no additional recoveries. To date there have been 79 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, with 17 quarantined, 2 are isolated in the hospital, 7 are isolated at home, 5 people have died and 65 have fully recovered.
