An Otsego County Man is facing charges in Western New York. Bath Village Police Department arrested 35 year old Andrew McCarthy of Otego, for 2nd Degree Attempted Rape, and Attempted Luring a Child, he is accused of of trying to meet a 14-year-old girl, with the intent to take her home with him for a sexual relationship, after Police were called to a Park in Bath on May 25th for a report of an adult male meeting with the teen girl. McCarthy was taken to the Steuben County jail and arraigned on the charges Sunday.

39 year old Peter Puglisi of Sidney was indicted by the Delaware County Grand Jury for Burglary, he appeared in Delaware County Court Tuesday and the indictment was unsealed, where Puglisi is accused of unlawfully entering a storage unit in the Village of Sidney on March 24th, with the intention of stealing items located inside the storage unit. Puglisi pleaded not guilty to the indictment, he was released on his own recognizance and directed to re-appear in Court on June 17th.

30 year old Charles Walsh of Sidney was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in Delaware County Court Tuesday, he pleaded guilty, where he admitted that he possessed fentanyl in the Village of Sidney that he intended to sell. Walsh will be sentenced to 5 1/2 years in state prison, to be followed by 2 years of post-release supervision, he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending his sentencing on July 10th.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified of an assault May 4th on Sherwood Road, 2 people sustained injuries as a result of the assault. Police arrested 3 SUNY Delhi students on assault charges, 19-year-old Kevin Bruns of Staten Island and 18-year-old Christopher Healy of Staten Island allegedly punched a victim in the face, Additionally, Healy, Bruns, and 21-year-old Moises Vilatoro of Huntington Station intentionally caused physical injury to another person during the same altercation, causing head contusions that required treatment at an area hospital. Bruns, Healy, and Villatoro face court action in Delhi Town Court on May 28th.

State Troopers are looking for the owner of a brown dog that was found in East Worcester last week, and they need to find the person who castrated the dog. The male dog is all brown with white paws. He is believed to be approximately 5 years old, he was located last week by Good Samaritans on State Highway 7 in the East Worcester area. He was taken to a vet in the Latham area and stabilized. He was later transferred to the Susquehanna SPCA where he is recuperating. Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at (607)561-7400.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving the Maine Endwell School District, On May 23, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the District about a message received from an unknown person through a tip-line app threatening an act of violence at one of the school buildings, including a photo of a handgun in the message. Deputies and detectives immediately responded to the school and tips have been received from community members providing additional details and possible perpetrators of the message. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, There have been no further threats since the initial incident on May 23. No other school districts have been implicated in this threat.
