The Village of Sidney will have their Resilient Sidney Open House Thursday, to discuss their options, according to Sidney Village Grants Administrator John Redente:

The State DEC reported that there were over 211,000 deer harvested during the 2021-22 hunting season, which is a 17% decrease from the previous Hunting Season’s numbers. Officials said that some reasons for the decline was the resurgence of a Disease in Deer in certain regions of the State and the overall lower number of Deer Management Permits that were granted to prospective hunters. Antonio Delgado officially became the state’s Lieutenant Governor this afternoon in New York City. Delgado stepped down as 19th district Congressman prior to being sworn into his new position.

The CDO Workforce Development Board, ONC BOCES, The State Labor Department and other organizations will hold 2 free apprenticeship roundtable events in June. The June 15th roundtable will take place at ONC BOCES in Milford. The June 16th roundtable will take place at SUNY Delhi. Both events will take place from 9:00am to 11:00am, more information is available at cdoworkforce.org.

The Latest COVID strains have pushed the state’s Positivity rate back up to 10.45% Tuesday, with almost 6000 positive cases in over 57,000 tests. Patient Hospitalizations are over 2700 & there were 27 more deaths in Hospitals & nursing homes Tuesday. The CDC Reports over 71,000 New Yorkers have died from COVID.

One drive is being held at the DCMO BOCES on State Route 206 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM, another is being held at St. Mary’s Church on Elm Street in Cooperstown from 12:30 to 5:30 PM. Industry Week has selected The Raymond Corporation’s Greene, New York, manufacturing facility as a finalist for the 2022 Best Plants Award. The selection process for the annual competition includes a detailed assessment of the plant’s operations and an in-person evaluation from an Industry Week editor. Winners will be announced later this year and featured in the print and digital edition of Industry Week.
