Governor Cuomo announced the latest Coronavirus numbers today, with 299,691 total cases; hospitalizations went up by about 950 for the 2nd straight day, 330 new deaths were reported, bringing the death toll to 18,015. Governor Cuomo stated that the state and surrounding states are going to re-open when the numbers say that it’s time to re-open:

Locally, Broome, Delaware & Chenango Counties will be able to perform elective surgeries, but Otsego County will not.

Chenango County Public Health released their latest Coronavirus numbers today. They have 95 confirmed cases, with 8 people hospitalized, 66 have recovered, 3 have died, and 80 are currently under quarantine.

Broome County Health Department report that they are now up to 265 Confirmed Coronavirus cases, and 21 deaths from the virus. 178 people are quarantined, 160 have recovered.

Otsego County Department of Health reported 1 new Coronavirus cases today, giving them 62 positive test results, currently 2 people are hospitalized, 44 have recovered, & there have been 4 deaths.
Delaware County Public Health reported no new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. To date there have been 69 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 reported to Delaware County. There are an additional 21 people under mandatory quarantine and 1 person under precautionary quarantine. 11 confirmed cases have been transferred out of the county, 2 are isolated in a hospital, 8 are isolated at home, 4 people are deceased and 44 have fully recovered.

State Police arrested 2 people Monday in the town of Roxbury after an investigation of a rape. State Troopers arrested 77 year old Gloria Laureanti of Roxbury on 4 counts of Menacing a Police Officer and 1 count of Resisting Arrest; & her grandson, 26 year old Vincent Brower of Roxbury was charged with 3rd degree Rape, Criminal Sexual Act & Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Police responded to Laureanti’s residence seeking to arrest Laureanti’s grandson, who is a suspect in a rape investigation, troopers found the front door of the residence blocked by a refrigerator, Laureanti pointed 2 revolvers at the troopers, When the troopers drew their division issued guns, Laureanti dropped the revolvers identified as cap guns. Laureanti was ultimately taken into custody & faces court action shortly.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies recently arrested 34 year old Staci Gregory of Unadilla on a number of charges after responding to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking traffic on County Highway 23 in the Town of Sidney. Gregory told deputies she had run out of gas, the investigation revealed that Gregory’s vehicle inspection and driver’s license were expired and her driving privileges had also been suspended for failure to answer a number of traffic summonses in Delaware, Chenango, Otsego and Oneida counties. Gregory was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without a license, failure to notify DMV of an address change and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate, she was released and directed to appear in the Town of Sidney Court on a later date to answer the charges.
