A fundraiser is being held to benefit 2 year old Trinity O’Connor of Sidney & her family. Trinity is suffering from stage 4 cancer, and the medical bills & chemo therapy expenses are difficult for the family to cover. Family friend Kelly Phelps explains:

Jury deliberations began in Chenango County Court Tuesday, in the murder trial of Jeremy Coates, who is accused of killing David Green at Green’s Oxford home in September of 2016. No decision was reached Tuesday, and the jury continued deliberating this morning.

State Police arrested 31 year old Anthony Heath of Oneonta for endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person & harassment with physical contact. Heath is accused of abusing patients will working at the Broome developmental Center in Oxford; he will answer to the charges in Oxford Court April 23rd.

Tax receipts for State Fiscal Year 2017-18 reached $79.3 billion, $4.9 billion, or 6.6 percent above the previous year, according to the state cash reportreleased today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. The state ended its fiscal year on March 31 with a General Fund balance of $9.4 billion, an increase of $1.7 billion over the prior fiscal year. The $9.4 billion General Fund balance at the end of March was $3.1 billion higher than anticipated in May 2017 and $278 million higher than DOB’s latest projection from February. State Police arrested 25 year old Justin Hadley of Hancock for Resisting Arrest, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, Harassment, after Hadley allegedly threatened the victim after an argument & damaged property. Hadley’s was arraigned in the village of Hancock Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division arrested 30 year old Lance Weiss of Harpursville for Unauthorized Use of a Computer. Weiss is accused of using a computer at a business in Broome County without permission, to access a pornographic website, he was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Computer, he faces court action at a later date.

Governor Cuomo signed legislation that protects New Yorkers from tax increases brought about by the federal tax reforms. Cuomo discussed the main feature, to protect New York wokring class:

The legislation provides new options for tax deductible charitable donations, de-couples the state tax code from the federal tax code, to avoid state tax increases brought solely by increases in federal taxes.

A Binghamton man was sent to the Broome County Jail after leading deputies on a chase Monday. Broome County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and the Warrant Unit attempted to take 31-year-old Kenneth Boyd into custody, he was spotted in a vehicle in a parking lot in the town of Fenton, when Boyd was approached, he took off & a pursuit continued through the Colesville, into Chenango County and back into Colesville. Deputies set up sticks to flatten the tires & a Taser was used to bring Boyd into custody. A passenger 30 year old Tiffany Hemion, attempted to drive off, she was taken into custody. Both were arraigned Boyd was sent to the Broome County Jail to await further action in Broome County Court. Hemion was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear in the Town of Fenton Court at a later date.

Chenango County officials announced that State Route 8 between State Route 23 in South New Berlin & County Route 33 is closed, following a motor vehicle accident. Crews have closed the road to replace a utility pole; Otsego County Route 18 is being used as a detour this morning.
