Norwich Mayor Shawn Sastri issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the city in regards to the COVID 19 response, City of Norwich Emergency Manager Stephen Cady told WCDO News exactly what the proclamation means:

The proclamation will insure that the staffing at the Fire Department & Emergency Squad will remain at safe levels for the city, & to keep staff safe with increase COVID 19 numbers in the region.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced federal funding to help revitalize New York State’s aging infrastructure, form the recently passed federal Infrastructure bill. Gillibrand discussed the bill in a ZOOM meeting this afternoon:

Gillibrand’s said that some provisions include measures to encourage the use of local workers in infrastructure projects, increase limo safety standards, repair airports, and improve New York’s obsolete water and sewage systems.

The Rotary Club of Unadilla has started a fundraiser for the Unadilla and Otego food pantries, Unadilla Rotary Spokesman Robert Knox explains:

Knox said that the fundraiser will end on November 30th, 3 sponsors have agreed to match donations up to $2000, and they are Otego Family Dental, Unalam & the Unadilla Rotary Club.

Former federal prosecutor Daniel Goldman has announced that he will run for New York Attorney General. Goldman’s announcement comes a day after Zephyr Teachout said that she would seek the Democratic nomination for attorney general. Incumbent Attorney General Letitia James’ recently announced that she is running for Governor in 2022.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that all New Yorkers enrolled in the SNAP will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for November. All households participating in SNAP will receive a supplemental allotment later this month, bringing in roughly $230 million in federal funding into the state’s economy. Struggling New Yorkers continue to rely heavily on SNAP as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, as of September, there were more than 2.77 million SNAP recipients throughout the state.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a trespass in progress Monday at a residence in the Village of Walton. Deputies determined that no trespass had occurred, and that the initial report was the result of a domestic dispute, they determined that 35-year-old Katrina Stanton of Deposit had driven her vehicle to the scene, & Stanton’s Driver’s License was suspended for failure to answer a previous a summons in the Town of Franklin. Deputies arrested Stanton for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, she was released & will appear in the Village of Walton Court at a later date.
