U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand commented today on President Trump’s order to freeze virtually all grants and loans disbursed by the federal government for Law enforcement, fire departments, SNAP, HEAP, infrastructure projects, disaster relief and emergency preparedness programs, Veterans programs, child care centers and public schools that rely on federal funding to keep their doors open:

President Donald Trump’s budget office rescinded the order freezing spending on federal grants today, shortly after Senator Gillibrand and others went public with their oppositon to the act, as well as a number of legal challenges being filed across the country

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle in Sidney Monday night , they arrested 61 year old Douglas Scott of Afton. Scott was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, as was as a number of traffic summonses. Scott was released on traffic summons and an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Sidney Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 23 year old Devon Kupris of Davenport for driving with a revoked driver’s license. Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop last night in Delhi , Deputies determined that Kupris’ privileges to operate a motor vehicle had been revoked on 5 prior dates and that he was required to have an interlock device installed on any vehicle that he operated due to previous alcohol-related charges. Kupris was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating out of interlock restriction, plus several other traffic violations, he was released on traffic summonses and was directed to appear at the town of Delhi court at a later date to answer the charges.

18 year old Namique McBride of Binghamton, was sentenced to 8 years in State Prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision for Criminal Possession of a Weapon. On May 4, 2024, Binghamton Police and the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force stopped a stolen vehicle, in which McBride was a passenger, he fled on foot, he was caught and he was found in possession of a loaded ghost gun.
