Otsego County Department of Health reported another COVID 19 related death today, this brings the total number of deaths to 6. 2 new cases were reported today, giving Otsego County 109 total cases, there are 9 active cases, 3 are hospitalized, 94 have recovered, & 225 people are quarantined.

Congressman Anthony Brindisi announced today that the VA Clinic in Bainbridge will remain open. Brindisi stated that the US House passed his legislation to protect the Bainbridge VA clinic as part of the annual Military Construction and Veterans Affairs funding bill. More than 3,600 Veterans reside in Chenango County.

State Police arrested 47 year old Angel Andino of Oneonta for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, after Troopers observed Andino driving the wrong way on Chestnut Street extension and turn onto Main Street. A traffic stop was initiated, Andino failed field sobriety tests, with a B.A.C was .19%. Andino was processed and released on appearance tickets to the city of Oneonta court on August 24th and turned over to the care of a sober third party.

The State Health Department reported that there were 746 new cases of COVID 19 Monday, just a slight bit above 1% of those tested, bringing the state to over 417,000 cases since March. There were 3 deaths state wide Monday, bringing the state toll to 25, 175. Total Hospitalizations were down to 568, ICU patients were down to 139 & 69 Patients were on Ventilators.

Broome County Health Department announced another 10 positive cases of the COVID 19 today, giving them 1,020 cases since March, there have been 69 deaths, 817 recoveries, 660 people are being monitored by the Department, they have conducted 29, 927 tests.

Chenango County Public Health announced that they are at 211 COVID 19 cases with 150 active quarantines, 1 person is hospitalized, there have been 189 recoveries & 7 deaths, they have conducted over 17,000 tests.

Delaware County Department of Public Works announced today that the Annual Clean Sweep hazardous waste disposal event will still be held, but at later dates, DPW Spokesman Tyson Robb explains:

Robb said that more information about online & telephone registration for the events will be announced in the coming weeks for the December 4th & 5th events.
Delaware County received no additional cases of COVID 19 Monday, they report 1 additional recovery. The known active cases in the County remains at 4, to date there have been 96 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, with 19 people under mandatory quarantine, 4 people are isolated at home and no one is isolated in a hospital, 6 people have died and 86 have fully recovered.

The Otsego County Health Department announces free testing for COVID 19 on Thursday August 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the Town of Worcester Municipal Building at 19 Katie Lane. This testing site for people who are not sick but want to be tested, by the nasal swab method. This is a drive up testing site. Individuals will be required to remain in their vehicle and wear a mask when pulling up to the testing tent. This testing site is for Otsego County residents only, registration is requested at 547-4279.

State Police arrested 51 year old Deborah Caserta of Mount Vision for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Troopers stopped Caserta on County Road 48 in the town of Oneonta after receiving numerous complaints in the area of an erratic driver. Caserta was processed and issued appearance tickets to the town of Oneonta court on August 25, then released to a sober third party.

The State Division of Consumer Protection is alerting consumers to a rise in online shopping complaints as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The Federal Trade Commission reports that during April and May, more people reported issues with online shopping than any other months on record, with more than half never receiving the products they ordered.
