Two Delaware County campgrounds sustained damages when straight-line winds, also known as a micro-burst, rolled through Cooks Falls on Sunday June 30th around 10:30 AM. Delaware County Spokesperson Shelly Johnson Bennett told WCDO news about the damages:

Johnson Bennett said that the deceased woman has been identified as Carol Luistro of Edison New Jersey, there were a few other people who suffered minor injuries, she also said that the National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team investigated the affected areas Sunday evening, they reported that it was part of a band of thunderstorms that impacted eastern Delaware and western Sullivan Counties on Sunday morning.

42 year old Thomas Mould of Stamford was indicted for Criminal Sexual Act, Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child by the Delaware County Grand Jury on June 27th. Mould is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a victim less than 17 years old in Stamford on June 22nd, Forcible Touched the intimate parts of another person, and he did knowingly act in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical mental or moral welfare of a child. Mould faces the potential of being sentenced to life in prison if he is convicted and sentenced as a persistent felony offender.

People waited in line Saturday on main Street in Oneonta to purchase tattoos, with the money going to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, Shelter Director Erin Insinga said that the response & the donation was overwhelming:

Insinga said that there are 2 more fundraisers this Saturday July 6th, one is a Bake Sale for All Animals Matter from 9:00 Am to 3:00 PM at Tractor Supply in Sidney & the other a a bottle & Can Drive for the Delaware Valley Humane Society, where people can drop off bottle & cans Saturday at the Shelter in Sidney from 9:00 Am to 2:00 PM, local pick ups can be arranged by calling the shelter at 607-563-7780 or by messaging them on their Facebook page, the recyclables will be hauled away by Krazy

State Police arrested 67 year old Eric Halstead of Candor, for Corrupting the Government & 3rd degree Grand Larceny, following an investigation by State Police with the Office of the State Comptroller. An investigation revealed that over several years while Halstead was Mayor of the Village of Candor, he withdrew over $23,000 dollars in cash from a Village account for personal use, Halstead replaced approximately $19-thousand dollars but still owes money to the Village of Candor. Halstead was arrested and Arraigned & he was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in the Candor Town Court on August 5th.

State Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on County Highway 47 in the town of Oneonta. 37 year old Timothy White of Oneonta was in possession of long guns and a victim was fearful of White’s past actions that could lead to further harm. While issuing an Extreme Risk Protection Order, Troopers observed numerous firearms and narcotics related items which further resulted in a search warrant of White’s residence, where Police seized methamphetamines, heroin, pills, scales, packaging materials & 2 rifles with defaced serial numbers White was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Criminal Possession of a Weapon, he was arraigned & was remanded on $50,000 cash or $100,000 property bond.

State Police were dispatched to Thursday to Jericho Road in the town of Bainbridge to a suspicious male and vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence where he didn’t belong. While attempting to interview the uncooperative driver, Troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. 28 year old Jacob Roach of Frankfort was arrested, Troopers discovered that the vehicle was stolen from a lot in Binghamton, Roach was charged with DWI, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Obstructing Emergency Medical Services, Roach was transported to the Chenango County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

An Investigation by the State Attorney General’s Office will begin shortly, following the shooting by Utica Police of a 13 year old Friday night. Utica’s Crime Prevention Unit conducted a stop of two juveniles related to an ongoing investigation, one of them fled on foot and displayed what appeared to officers to be a handgun, an un-named officers discharged his weapon and shot the teen, who succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital.
