SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced Today a new program that aims to vaccinate SUNY residential students before the end of the spring semester. SUNY reserved its first shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to inoculate students that vaccine is a single-dose shot and that should allow that vaccination of thousands of students before they go back to their communities this summer. The Chancellor’s Office reported that 18,600 Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be distributed to 34 SUNY campuses. , and more will be distributed to more campuses in weekly installments over the next several weeks. The announcement follows today’s state health Department announcement that all New Yorkers age 16 or older are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine.

Chenango County Public Health reported 3 more COVID 19 related deaths today. Chenango County reports 107 active cases, 380 quarantined & 4 hospitalized, they have had just under 2900 cases & now report 68 Total Deaths.

Delaware County Public Health reported 25 new Positive cases of COVID 19 Monday out of 824 tested. Delaware County reports 186 active cases, 17 hospitalized & 271 quarantined, they have reported 46 deaths so far.

91 cats have been taken out of an area home in Delaware county, & 4 area shelters teamed up to retrieve the animals & begin the long process of tending the their health, before they are available for adoption. Delaware valley Humane Society Director Erin Insinga told WCDO news that they could use the usual items that are needed after this kind of large scale operation:

Governor Cuomo Announced that the 11:00 PM Curfew has been lifted for Casinos, Movie Theaters, Bowling Alleys, Billiard Halls, Gyms and Fitness Centers. On Sunday, the number of COVID hospitalizations was down to 4,434, there were 906 Patients in the ICU; 577 Intubated on ventilators & there were 57 COVID-19 Deaths in New York State Sunday

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32 year-old Nicholas Hanley of Delhi for driving while his ability was impaired by drugs, following a motor vehicle accident on Sherwood Road in the Town of Delhi on March 28th. Hanley’s vehicle left the shoulder of the roadway and struck a ditch, he was also charged with speed unreasonable and prudent, moving from lane unsafely, unlicensed operator, operating a motor vehicle without the required interlock device, Hanley was released to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later to answer the charges.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office conducted an audit of the Masonville Fire District; Auditors found the board did not provide adequate financial operations oversight. The board did not review supporting documentation for 9 disbursements totaling $57,374. They did not approve 12 disbursements totaling $75,880 before payment nor did they audit the treasurer’s records. The board also did not ensure sensitive and personal electronic data was adequately protected because the treasurer used her personal computer to maintain district financial records and perform online banking transactions.

The next Meeting of the General Clinton Canoe Regatta committee will be held tonight at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Galaxy Bowl in Bainbridge, final decisions will be made concerning this year’s event at this meeting.
