Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53 year old Donald Lane Jr. of Milford, for 3rd & 4th Degree Grand Larceny, following an investigation into the complaint of in the Town of Milford where a motor vehicle had been unlawfully taken from the victim’s residence. Lane was processed, and was being held in the Otsego County Jail on unrelated charges.

Commerce Chenango’s 2nd annual Women’s Leadership Conference was held Tuesday at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich, with a large turnout for the all day event, according to Sophia Root of Commerce Chenango:

Root said that they plan on having that event again next year, she also said that the Chenango Threat Advisory Committee will have next presentation on April 17th.

The Mid York Concert Band is seeking applications for their $1,000 scholarship, Band Director Doug Ernst explains:

Governor Hochul updated New Yorkers on the “You’re Hired” campaign to hire federal workers that have been fired by the Trump Administration. In 3 weeks, state agencies have received over 1,300 applications, hired 28 former federal workers and interviewed over 100 individuals, over 250 individuals have signed up to attend a career webinar or receive career resources by completing the survey on ny.gov/wewantyou. Since the launch of the campaign, the State’s Jobs website has been viewed over 4 million times.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is calling on VA employees and vets to contact her office with concerns they may be having regarding the Trump administration demanding they return to in person work, cutting staff, and making it more difficult for mental health professionals to administer confidential help to vets.

Lawsuits have put a temporary hold on many of the VA firings, Gillibrand is calling on President Trump to reevaluate return to office policies and ensure that veterans’ needs are being met fully.

On February 27, State Police executed a search warrant at multiple properties on State Highway 80 in the town of Springfield. 8 dogs, 13 cats and A turtle were removed after they were observed to be in need of immediate medical care. They were all turned over to the Susquehanna SPCA. On Tuesday. 64 year old Brian Fleming, and 61 year old Theresa Fleming of Springfield, were both arrested for 11 counts of Torturing or Injuring Animals/Failure to Provide Sustenance and 2 counts of the Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, They are scheduled to appear in the Springfield Town Court on April 3rd.

The Chenango County Planning Department is hosting a traveling training session today, in conjunction with “Getthere,” from the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. Shane Butler of the Chenango County Planning Department explains:

Butler said that a Getthere representative will visit the Norwich American Legion from 10 am. to 12 pm.

31 year old Osvaldo Constanza was sentenced in Chenango County Court for a 3rd degree rape charge, to 1 1/2 years in state prison, followed by 3 years of post release supervision, he will also be required to register as a sex offender. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the 15 year old victim.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43 year old Elizabeth Nash of Sidney for burglary & petty larceny, following an investigation into a reported larceny at Walmart in the Town of Oneonta. Nash is accused of trespassing & stealing items she was being held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.

A Binghamton man is facing multiple felony charges after attempting to hide Methamphetamine in a Cheetos bag in a failed effort to fool members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and the Broome County Sheriff’s Strategic Response Group. 29 year old Ralph Carson was found to be in possession of over 5 ounces of Methamphetamine, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest, Carson was arraigned and remains in custody at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility.
