Governor Cuomo launched the Alcoholic Beverage Control E-Commerce Task Force, to develop a framework for regulating sales of alcoholic beverages through third party providers. The task force is led by State Liquor Authority Chairman Vincent Bradley, it will hold an inaugural meeting on February 29th to begin gathering industry input on drafting legislation, the meeting will begin at 10:00 am at the Authority’s New York City Office it will be webcast live at sla.ny.gov.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Rachel Cummings of Norwich in connection with a “One Pot” Meth Lab at the Norwich Motor Lodge. Deputies responded the report of the “one pot” meth operation in the dumpster, further investigation led to additional “one pots” behind one of the motel rooms. Deputies seized several “one pots”, laboratory equipment, and additional evidence, Cummings was charged with Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine, and Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine, she was arraigned and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1000 cash bail.

Ithaca is contemplating the creation of “safe” spaces for drug users, Mayor Svante Myrick announced he would consider a “supervised injection facility” where patients can safely inject drugs under clinical supervision as part of a plan to ultimately prevent drug use and sales, reduce overdose deaths and infectious disease, decrease rates of incarceration, expand access to treatment, and save taxpayers money. Other parts of the plan include creating a 24-hour crisis center, using police to get people into treatment and considering heroin-assisted treatment for those who have failed other drug treatments such as methadone.

Delaware County Deputies arrested 33-year-old Christopher Pashley & 32-year-old Kimberly Pashley of Franklin for 1 count each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. It is alleged that both illegally possessed Suboxone in the Town of Franklin. They both are currently located in the Delaware County Correctional Facility and will be arraigned at the Town of Franklin Court at a later date. Deputies additionally charged Kimberly Pashley for 1 count of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance, for allegedly possessing a controlled substance when probation officers took her into custody on the other charges, she is being held in the Delaware County Jail & will be arraigned on the new charge in Town of Franklin Court at a later date.

Oneonta Police & State Police arrested 26-year-old Charles Howe of Otego for 3rd degree Robbery & 2 counts of Petty Larceny, in connection with a strong-arm robbery at the Rite Aid store, 94 Chestnut Street in Oneonta Wednesday Morning. Howe allegedly grabbed money from the open cash register after making a purchase. A store employee followed Howe as he exited & advised Police of his direction of flight. Oneonta Police Detective Division linked Howe to a robbery at the Walgreens store, 99 Chestnut Street on Tuesday in which he also allegedly grabbed cash from a register drawer. Howe faces court action shortly.
