Chobani has filed paperwork for an initial public offering, which would allow them to become a publicly-traded company on the stock market. Bloomberg News reported that the company listed the size of the offering as $100 million, 5 years ago; Chobani gave 2,000 employees shares that would amount to 10% of the company’s future value in the event of a Public Offering.

New York Farm Bureau’s 2021 Market Basket Survey shows the price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner saw a modest uptick from last year’s meal. The average total price, which includes a 16-pound turkey and other common items found on a holiday dinner table, is $52.59, a 1.7% increase over last year. Turkey prices are about $1.46 per pound in New York State, which is about five cents per pound over last year’s average price there were small price increases for whipped cream, Pumpkin Pie Mix, fresh cranberries, and a veggie tray, the biggest decrease is for sweet potatoes. The Farm Bureau reported that the higher costs do not trickle down to the farmer, who receives only about 8 cents of each dollar consumers spend on food at the store.

The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce will be doing a Collection for Toys for Tots on Saturday, December 11th. The Bainbridge Christmas Parade will be at 5:00 pm and they will have a pickup with Toys for Tots banner at the Firehouse for Collection, all donated Toys must be new & unwrapped. The Chamber will also have another collection on Sunday, December 12th during our Christmas Caroling at 5:00 pm behind Bob’s Diner.

The Chenango County Health Department is hosting a Pfizer Vaccine Clinic at Afton Central School for children 5 and older on Wednesday December 1st, In the old gym at Door 13, on Sands Street, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Sidney Police Department conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation today that resulted in the arrest of 2 people. Sidney Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to its rear license plate lamp not working, the driver, 23 year old Colin Stanton of Sidney was charged with Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, the passenger 36 year old Tina Bremner of Plymouth was charged with 2 counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance, both were released on appearance tickets for Village of Sidney Court at a later date.

According to preliminary figures released today by the State Department of Labor, the number of private sector jobs in New York State increased to over 7.5 million in October. The State’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 7.1% to 6.9% in October.

The Chenango County Health Department is offering a Pfizer Vaccine clinic for children ages 5 and up on November 18th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in Norwich at the Old Label Shopper store location in the South Plaza. Delaware County Public Health reported another COVID 19 death in today’s report, covering Tuesday & Wednesday, with 46 new cases, 226 active cases and 328 quarantined, they will be conducting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic today at 97 Main Street, Delhi from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. This clinic is open to people over the age of 18. Boosters will be available at this clinic, appointments are required for all Moderna Boosters at apps2.health.ny.gov. COVID vaccines are also available for people or completing their first series, more information is available by calling Delaware County Public Health at 607-832-5200.

The State Health Department reports that their positivity rate on COVID testing continues to trend up again. 160,747 were tested Tuesday with 6114 positive, for a positivity rate of 3.8% Patient Hospitalization were back over 2100, patients in an ICU bed were back up to 414, 225 were on ventilators, 31 died from COVD in hospitals & nursing homes.

State Police responded to a fully engulfed structure fire on County Road 34A in the town of Cherry Valley Tuesday, with 1 person inside a travel trailer. Sharon Springs, Cherry Valley and Middlefield Fire Departments were on the scene attempting to put out the flames. 58 year old Ellen Cantrell was located deceased inside. At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
