The public donations for North Carolina has been above & beyond that organizer expected this week, as a 2nd tractor trailer is half filled, according to local trucker Jeff Dean:

Anyone who has the generators or propane heaters can still bring those for the 2nd tractor trailer, the 1st one is filled up & ready to go tomorrow from the parking lot behind Bob’s Diner in Bainbridge

State Police arrested 26 year old Danny Clark of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, after a traffic stop on Main Street in Unadilla. After performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Clark was arrested, he was found to be in possession of illicit drugs and brass knuckles, he was issued appearance tickets to the Unadilla Town Court on October 22.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that 65 New York National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been deployed to Florida to assist the Florida National guard in responding to Hurricane Milton. The New York National Guard will deploy to Jacksonville, Florida. The New York National Guard currently has 48 Soldiers and Airmen deployed, including Army engineers and CH-47F Chinook heavy lift helicopters on storm response missions in North Carolina.

American Red Cross Blood Drives are continuing, as the need for donations increases with the recent Hurricanes in the southern states, 1 will be held in Franklin today from 12:30 pm. – 5:30 pm., at the Franklin Fire Department, another is being held in Cooperstown from 1 pm. – 5:30 pm., at the Community Bible Chapel, Appointments can be made at RedCrossBlood.org, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
