Governor Cuomo updated the state’s numbers on COVID 19 for Sunday. 58,000 tests were performed Sunday, 573 were positive, or .98%. 458 people were hospitalized; with 134 in an ICU & 66 patients were on Ventilators, 1 person died Sunday, the state death toll is 25,428. Governor Cuomo also announced an Executive Order extending the state’s moratorium on COVID-related commercial evictions and foreclosures an additional month, until October 20th.

Chenango County Public Health announced that they received 3 more positive COVID 19 cases since last week, they have had a total of 248 cases, 5 are active, 1 is hospitalized & 85 are quarantined. There have been 7 deaths, 222 recoveries & over 27,300 tests have been performed since March.

The Broome County Health Department announced that they were up to 1353 cases of COVID 19 since March. They report 82 deaths, 1211 recoveries, 594 are being monitored by the Health Department, and they have conducted over 46,000 tests.

State Police responded to the report of a Whitney Point school bus that went off the roadway on Pendell Hill Road in Nanticoke this morning. An 8-year-old child was on the bus and was evaluated on scene but not transported. The bus driver, a 56-year-old female was transported to Wilson Hospital for complaint of pain. A 37-year-old female bus monitor was transported to Binghamton General with a cut to her head. No other vehicles were involved.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched in May to a dispute on Cadosia Road in the Town of Hancock. Investigation determined that an aggressive driving incident led to a confrontation and threats between neighbors. Upon conclusion of their investigation, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office recommended the arrests of 3 people. Deputies arrested 34 year-old Katrina Aponte of Cadosia, earlier this month for 2nd degree harassment, on September 13th, 53 year-old George Ronk and 31 year-old Kyle Crandall of Cadosia were also located & charged with 2nd degree Harassment, all 3 will appear in the Town of Hancock Court at a later date.

Governor Cuomo gave a COVID 19 update Sunday, he reported that of the 100,355 test results reported to New York State yesterday, 862, or 0.86 percent, were positive, Bringing Statewide Total to 449,900; The number of Hospitalizations Saturday was 468, with 132 in ICU beds & 60 on Ventilators, there were 2 Deaths , the state death toll is 25,427.

Otsego County Department of Health reported 3 new cases of COVID 19 Friday, 1 is linked to SUNY Oneonta, the other 2 are close contacts of positive cases, and 1 of those is an Edmeston Central School student. There was no exposure at the school as the students are 100% remote learning at this time. Otsego County reports 694 confirmed cases linked to SUNY Oneonta, 16 confirmed cases in Hartwick College students, there are 23 active cases currently residing in the county. The Health Department reports a total of 856 confirmed cases since March, there is 1 hospitalization.

Delaware County Public Health received no positive lab reports for COVID-19 Friday. They are still reporting a 117 positive Results for COVID 19 since March, with 108 recoveries, there are 3 Active cases isolating at Home, 16 are quarantined, 6 have died. A total of 16911 tests have been conducted.

Law Enforcement Agencies issued 3,262 tickets for impaired driving during the STOP-DWI “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which ran from August 19 through September 7. During that time, officers also issued 116,292 tickets for other vehicle and traffic law violations, such as speeding and distracted driving. The STOP-DWI “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, occurs multiple times throughout the year to reduce alcohol and other drug-related traffic crashes, fatal crashes involving an impaired driver have decreased more than 19% from 2010 to 2019.
