DEC officials were on site all weekend near Hale Eddy, responding to the spill & clean-up of diesel fuel into the West Branch of the Delaware River, from last Thursday’s
New York Susquehanna & Western railroad derailment. A small culvert & the railroad bed washed out after recent flash flooding, 2 Locomotives derailed at that site, and
number of other cars derailed further back on the line, with a couple of cars entering the river. Most of the railroad cars have been removed & the clean-up &
investigation is continuing.

Respiratory Therapy Supervisor at UHS Chenango Memorial, who works with patients who suffer from sleep apnea.

State Police arrested 23 year old Daniel Shelton of Unadilla for DWI after Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle in the median on Interstate 88. Troopers learned that Shelton was traveling in a westerly direction when he veered to the right, struck a guiderail then crossed back toward the median. Shelton was arrested & was released to a sober third party and will appear in the town of Sidney Court on August 23rd.

The Otsego County health Department reported that a raccoon in the town of Mt. Vision, tested positive for rabies last week. The raccoon attacked a dog on Wednesday, 1 person came in contact with the raccoon while attempted the save the dog. The dog was up to date on its rabies vaccinations, and required a booster that evening. The next rabies clinic in Otsego County will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Neahwa Park in Oneonta.

President Trump is planning to stop in Central New York today, first he will stop at Fort Drum in Watertown to sign a defense bill, then he will attend a $1000 a ticket fundraiser at an undisclosed location for Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who is seeking re-election for a 2nd term to the 22nd District against Democrat Anthony Brindisi. Brindisi will host a fundraiser tonight in Utica; Tickets will start at $10 and can be purchased online in advance or at the door. The event will take place at 6:00 PM at Chesterfield Restaurant in Utica.

State Police at Oneonta arrested 41 year old Coryn Rock of Morris on 4 counts of Criminal Contempt, after Troopers were contacted on July 26th, after a victim accused Rock of sending unwanted messages to a total of 4 people who were protected by an order of protection. Rock was arrested and arraigned in the town of Morris; she was released on her own recognizance pending additional court action.
