A Winter Storm is expected to hit the Southern Tier Region tonight into tomorrow morning, local Meteorologist Rich Townsend explains:

The National Weather Service posted a “WINTER STORM WARNING” in effect from 6:00 PM tonight through 7:00 PM Tuesday night.

Fresh off of the 1st anniversary of the new Emergency Room & Walk In Center at Chenango Memorial Hospital, came word that the Hospital would get 20 Million Dollars for future projects that had been planning, according to Melissa Stagnaro, who is the Executive Director of the Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation:

Stagnaro said that they will not have to kick off another fundraising campaign for the 2nd Phase of their projects, with the receiving of this Grant money at this time. Phase 2 is expected to take about 5 years to complete.

A free virtual job fair will be held March 8th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Businesses in 6 area counties are looking to fill positions, including in Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties. The Norwich Police Department and Norwich Fire Department announced on Friday that they responded to 3 overdoses within a 12 hour period. Norwich Police warn that Heroin possibly laced with Fentanyl was being circulated, information about programs available in the area can be accessed by calling (607) 334-1212.

Hancock & Deposit Firefighters responded early this Morning to a structure fire at 57 East Main Street in Hancock. The structure was full involved, WCDO News will have more details as they become available.

Bainbridge Firefighters responded to a fire at 9 East Main Street Sunday morning. Occupants escaped without injuries, Fire fighters from Sidney, Afton, Masonville, Unadilla, Guilford, & Mt Upton also responded, Bainbridge Fire Fighters have returned for rekindles yesterday & again this morning, the fire is believed to have started in a garage and spread to the nearby residence.

The Department of Agriculture and Markets has been awarded over $3.8 million from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to help New York seniors better access locally grown food.
