Binghamton Police responded Sunday afternoon to the banks of the Susquehanna River in Binghamton, after a dead body was found by a man talking a walk through the woods.  The body was removed & the investigation is ongoing.

Congressman Anthony Brindisi will host a Re-Election Rally today in Binghamton. This event is free and open to the public, & will be held at the Lost Dog Cafe & Lounge, 222 Water St, Binghamton at 2:15 pm.

Governor Cuomo said the Albany Jewish Community Center was evacuated and searched Sunday morning after it and several other centers around the country received anonymous emailed threats.  Police evacuated about 100 people, searched the building and declared it safe, similar threats were emailed to 18 other Jewish Community Centers around the country.  The FBI is investigating.  There have been 42 anti-Semitic incidents around the state since the beginning of the year.

Governor Cuomo is reportedly back-pedaling on the controversial Bail Reform Laws, as more & more people are being released without bail & committing crimes shortly after leaving the court house, Assemblyman Cliff Crouch said that he hopes that the issue gets corrected:

Senate Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins also said recently that the Bail Reform laws need to be discussed and more violent crimes need to be removed from the law to give judges the ability to remand dangerous people to jail.

The Broome County District Attorney Michael Korchak says 49-year-old Bilal Flynn of Endicott has been convicted of 7 counts of criminally possession of a controlled substance plus criminally using drug paraphernalia.  Korchak said that Flynn was a major drug dealer in the southern tier, Police seized powder cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, drug packaging materials and digital scales from Flynn at the time of his arrest in June 2019 by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and indicted by a grand jury in August 2019.

On Friday, a jury convicted Lawrence Faucett of Ulster, Pennsylvania for criminally negligent homicide in the death of State DOT worker Dennis Howe in March of 2019.  Howe was killed when his parked advance warning vehicle was struck on the shoulder of State Route 17 by Faucett, who was driving a tractor-trailer & did not comply with New York’s Move Over law.

Governor Cuomo launched a new campaign to ban all flavored nicotine vaping products, including menthol flavors, and to restrict vaping advertisements aimed at youth. The proposed legislation would authorize the State Department of Health to regulate the sale of vaping product carrier oils deemed to be a public health risk & prohibit the online, phone and mail order sale of e-cigarettes; only registered retailers would be allowed to purchase e-cigarettes using those methods. There will be a Vietnam Era Veterans Pinning Ceremony today Hosted by Congressman Anthony Brindisi in Norwich.  The event will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Chenango Arts Council, 27 West Main Street in Norwich.
