37 year old Paul Fontana of Delhi was indicted & arraigned on a 27 count indictment last week, he is accused of possessing weapons, ghost guns, a 3d printer to make ghost guns, & for selling the illegal weapons, plus he was accused of possessing oxycodone, and for menacing an individual, after Delhi Police, The Delaware County Sheriff’s office executed search warrant on New Year’s Day, Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced what was confiscated at a press conference Friday:

State Police announced that 106,509 tickets were issued statewide, as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over traffic enforcement period from December 13, and ended Monday, January 1, 2024. State Troopers arrested 510 people for DWI and investigated 3,210 accidents, which resulted in 420 people being injured and five fatalities. In Troop C, troopers had 1077 tickets for speeding, 37 for DWI, 57 for distracted driving 24 violators for the Move Over Law & a total of over 2700 tickets during the enforcement period.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced that a traffic stop in Margaretville resulted in the arrest of 39 year old David Blank of Phoenicia for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Blank was issued traffic tickets for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unsafe tires, he was released on appearance tickets and directed to appear at the Town of Middletown court to answer the charges.

State Police have arrested 3 people in connection with a shooting Saturday morning at 309 Main Street in Otego. Arrested were 32 year old Sara Baker of Davenport, for murderous intent, 51 year old Jovanni Salinas of Orlando Florida for Murderous intent, & 30 year old Tyler Culver of Otego for Reckless Endangerment, Criminal possession of a weapon, Possession of a firearm with a previous conviction, & Loaded Firearm, all 3 are being held pending future court action.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 36 year old Nathan Pixley in the Town of Colesville. Pixley had been sought by law enforcement for several days following a domestic incident in the Town of Fenton on January 2nd, A deputy successfully developed information based on a tip from community and located Pixley hiding in a residence in the Town of Colesville. Pixley was charged with Strangulation, Criminal Contempt, Criminal Mischief, Endangering the Welfare of a Child & Harassment, he was arraigned and was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility.

State Police arrested 32 year old Ariela Thran of Granby, for the murder of 62 year old Patricia Halverson of Solon. Thran is charged with 2nd degree Murder, she was arraigned at the Cortland County Centralized Arraignment & was remanded to the Cortland County Correctional Facility without bail. She is scheduled to appear in the Solon Town Court on January 17. On January 3, 2024, Halverson was found deceased outside her residence at 4425 Wildman Road, State Police encourage anyone with information to contact State Police at (607)561-7400.

Attorney General Letitia James announced that Joshua Powell, a former National Rifle Association Executive Director of Operations and Chief of Staff to recently resigned NRA Executive Wayne LaPierre, has reached a $100,000 agreement with her office. Powell was 1 of 5 defendants in a lawsuit brought by the Office of the Attorney General against the NRA and senior management in August 2020. The trial of the claims against the NRA and the remaining defendants will begin today.
