Delaware County Public Health will be conducting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for people 18 and older on Thursday at 97 Main Street, Delhi, Moderna 1st or 2nd doses will only be available from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for walk-ins only. Moderna boosters will be available from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for those who registered at apps2.health.ny.gov. Individuals who received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines are now eligible for a single booster dose 5 months or more after initial series. The Grandparent Scam continues to pop up, where scammers try to rip off the elderly by posing. by phone as a troubled grandchild, Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond said that his Office has investigated this scam too many times:

Sheriff DuMond said that several people have unwittingly sent money to scammers in this instance, State Police announced that they are investigating another “grandparent scam” in Endwell where the scammer showed up in a Jeep, pictured on the state Police website that took advantage of a victim, causing a significant monetary loss. Investigators are looking for the public’s help at (607) 775-1241.

Tax receipts for the first 9 months of State Fiscal Year exceeded projections, totaling $84.4 billion, significantly higher than the most recent forecast by the Division of the Budget. While tax collections have exceeded forecast throughout the current fiscal year, December results are also affected by a newly established tax structure that allows certain taxpayers to make state business tax payments that are deductible from federal taxes, rather than making state income tax payments that are not deductible from federal taxes.

The Hartwick College campus will be closed today, due to inclement weather. All classes, athletic events, and other activities at the College scheduled for today are canceled. Yager Museum will also be closed.
Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 9 Kattelville Road in Chenango Bridge at around 6:40 pm. Friday, they found 29-year-old Randy Glezen of Lisle bleeding on the floor with multiple stab wounds and a neighbor performing CPR, then a deputy took over, however, Glezen succumbed to his injuries. 20-year-old Christian Smith-Bartlett is charged with Murder and Assault, and he was sent to the Broome County Jail to await court action.

Otsego County Office of Emergency Services announced that the COVID test site in the Village of Milford will be closed today, due to inclement weather. Milford test site will reopen again on Wednesday, January 19.

The State Health Department & the Governor’s Office announced that the COVID testing positivity rate statewide decreased to 12.9% Saturday. The state tested 397,524 people Saturday with 51,264 positive tests, Patient Hospitalization dropped by over 450 to 11,713; ICU patients dropped by 40 to 1613, the number of ventilators went up slightly to 910, and there were 154 deaths in Hospitals & Nursing Homes from COVID Saturday.

Delaware County Public Health reported 650 new COVID 19 cases from January 8th to the 14th. There were 7 hospitalized, 479 active cases, there were 4 more deaths associated with the virus in Delaware County last week.
