State Police arrested 23-Year-Old Daniel Baker of Oneonta, for Aggravated DWI with a BAC result of .22%, plus unlawful possession of marihuana. This arrest occurred after a trooper observed Baker driving the wrong way on State Route 28 in the Town of Oneonta. Baker was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Oneonta court on October 11th.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 40-year-old Ian Lyle of Unadilla, on 1 count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated following an investigation of 1car motor vehicle accident in May in the Town of Sidney. Lyle is accused of driving with a BAC of .20% following results of a Toxicology report. Lyle was released on a traffic ticket returnable to Sidney Town Court at a later date.

36-year-old Chamell Hampton pleaded guilty in Broome County Court to 2nd degree Rape, Hampton admitted engaging in sexual contact with an adult female who was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless. Hampton was a Broome County Sheriff’s Correction Officer at the time of the September 2014 attack, Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell announced that Hampton would serve 4 years in New York State Prison, with 3 years post-release supervision, when he is sentenced on December 13th.

The Delaware County Board of Elections reminds area voters that the General Election is November 8th this year, & the Local Registration days will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturday, October 15th, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Board of Elections Office in Delhi. Friday October 14th is the last day to postmark a registration form to vote in the November Election. October 14, 2016 is the last day for the Board of Elections to receive an enrollment change to be effective for 2017. The city of Oneonta has contracted with an outside firm to replace drainage & water utilities at the intersection of Chestnut Street & West Street. The scheduled announced earlier has changed, and the work will be performed beginning October 4th, & is expected to be completed by October 13th, with the work performed from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. 1-lane traffic will be maintained, traffic delays can be expected, and more information is available at 432-6465.

The 10th annual O’Connor Hospital Golf Invitational, held on September 21st at the SUNY Delhi Golf Course, raised over $48,000 dollars this year. The Money raised will be used to benefit the Hospital’s expansion of Primary care & the Hospital’s annual fund.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s department announced the arrest of 2 people in connection with the murder of 58-year-old David Green in Oxford last weekend. 42-year-old Melissa Crispell of Oxford & 46 year old Jeremy Coates of Norwich were charged with Green’s Murder, both arraigned in the Town of Oxford Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail, pending future court action.
