The Office of the Attorney General will make its Election Protection Hotline available for the upcoming August 23rd election and during New York’s early voting period, tomorrow through Sunday, August 21. The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will start the 2022 Leaderful Delaware classes, which will start on September 13 with an in-person session in Delhi, with meeting on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday’s from 1 to 4 pm, through October. Applicants may be sponsored by a business or a community leader. Tuition is $300 and includes all materials and fees. Application due Sept. 1. The State Department of Labor announced the conclusion of an identity theft and fraud case from a 2017 investigation. 54 year old Guy Cuomo of Frederick, Maryland, was sentenced yesterday to 45 months after being found guilty of computer fraud, misuse of a social security number, aggravated identity theft, and related conspiracy charges.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo believes that state taxpayers should pay for his legal defense against the allegations of sexual harassment that led to his resignation from office one year ago. Cuomo filed suit Thursday against the state Attorney General for allegedly violating state law by denying his request to be assigned public assistance for his defense, after Attorney General James denied the former Governor legal counsel. James issued a statement saying: “Taxpayers should not have to pony up for legal bills that could reach millions of dollars so Mister Cuomo’s lawyer can attack survivors of his abuse.”

Federal Health Officials are arriving in New York, following an increase in Polio cases detected in the wastewater in 2 counties this week. The State Health department is urging everyone who has not received a Polio vaccine to get one as soon as possible, more information is available by contacting your County Health Department.
