Josie Valdes-Pica of Binghamton was sentenced to 7 years in State Prison followed by 5 years post-release supervision for Attempted Assault, plus 2nd & 3rd degree Assault in Broome County Court Today. In November 2022, Valdes-Pica was arrested by Binghamton Police for striking a female victim multiple times with a metal baseball bat, causing injuries.

36 year old Ryan Wood of Sidney pleaded guilty to in Delaware County Court to Attempted Criminal Sale of a controlled substance. Wood sold Fentanyl to an undercover Police Informant in Sidney Last September, he was indicted in February on the charge and pleaded guilty this week in Delhi, sentencing will be held at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29 year old Jacob Nack of Laurens for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as for Executing a Bench Warrant. Nack was arrested following an investigation into a Domestic Incident in the Town of Laurens, he was found to have an active bench warrant out of the City of Oneonta and was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance, Nack was turned over to the Oneonta Police for the outstanding warrant, he will appear in Town of Laurens Court on the drug charge at a later date.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43 year old Himichal Sagar of India for scamming a senior citizen out of $36,000. The Liberty Police Department investigated a report of an elaborate scam that stole $36,000 from a 76-year-old Liberty resident, who had a potential virus on her computer, was contacted by someone claiming to work for the virus company, he convinced her to withdraw the money from her accounts and gave it to the man to put in a safer account while the virus was removed. Investigators found Sagar’s rented vehicle at a hotel parking lot in the Town of Dickinson, Broome County deputies were called to assist and Sagar was taken into custody, the full amount of $36,000 was recovered. Sagar was charged with 3rd degree Grand Larceny & was released with an appearance ticket, but was ordered to surrender his passport to the court.

The USDA announced that Cargill Meat Solutions of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, is recalling approximately 16,243 pounds of raw ground beef products. The ground beef products were produced on April 26 & 27th, with an establishment number of “EST 86P” printed on the back of the label. The products were shipped to Walmart stores in New York State & many other states, they are potentially contaminated with E. coli. Consumers can contact Cargill Meat Solutions at 1-844-419-1574.

TRI TOWN THEATRE PRESENTS THE MUSICAL, “RENT” tonight through Sunday Afternoon, Theatre spokesman George Wells said that Cameron Kinnear has made spectacular changes to the music of this show:

Congressman Marc Molinaro’s constituent service team will hold mobile office hours from 11:00am to 1:00pm today, at the Norwich City Hall. Constituents will be able to connect with representatives from Rep. Molinaro’s office to share comments and resolve issues they are having with federal agencies like the VA, IRS, and Social Security Administration.
