Governor Cuomo announced that the state now has over 44,000 positive cases of the Corona Virus, & the work is continuing to increase Hospital Capacity before the expected apex of cases in the next 3 weeks:

Cuomo said that over 6400 people are hospitalized, 519 have died, 1583 are in ICU beds with Ventilators, & 2045 have been discharged from hospitals.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and U.S. Congressman Anthony Brindisi announced millions for the 22nd Congressional District communities as part of the recently announced Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.  Brindisi secured more than $30 million for Upstate New York counties.

Delaware County Public Health received a laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 report. The total number of confirmed cases in Delaware County is 6.  The investigations are ongoing and all contacts are being notified and quarantined. The first individual to test positive is fully recovered and no longer in isolation. 2 cases are recovering safely while isolating at home in Delaware County, 3 cases are isolated and receiving medical care in a hospital, there are 13 people under mandatory quarantine and 5 people under precautionary quarantine. There have been 101 people tested in Delaware County so far.

The Chenango County Health Department reported that they have 4 positive cases of the corona virus.  94 people are on precautionary quarantine, 53 are in mandatory quarantine in Chenango County.

The Otsego County Health Department announced today that they are up to 6 Cases of COVID 19.  Every case is promptly investigated and close contacts have been notified.

The Broome County Health Department announced today that they have 17 positive Coronavirus tests, 3 people have died, 46 are in Precautionary Quarantine and 123 are in mandatory Quarantine.

State Police responded Thursday to County Road 18 in the town of Morris for a personal injury accident.  The investigation revealed that a male was operating a lawn tractor southbound on the western shoulder of County Road 18; he failed to observe that a Chevrolet Malibu also traveling southbound on the roadway when he turned left in front of the Malibu’s path while attempting to enter a driveway.  The female driver of the Malibu was unable to avoid the male on the lawn tractor; he was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital with injuries to his head and face.  The driver of the Malibu was not injured.   The accident remains under investigation.

The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District Board of Education meeting scheduled for April 2nd has been cancelled, due to the COVID 19 pandemic & social distancing requirements.

Governor Cuomo announced today that All State Public Schools will remain closed through at least April 15th, due to the Corona Virus Pandemic; he said that it is more than likely that the schools will stayed closed well beyond that date.

The State Police announced that there is no travel ban in New York State at this time.  State Troopers have received numerous inquiries to their offices around the state; the department does urge people to stay home and travel only if necessary, and to make sure to practice social distancing.

Chen-Del O Federal Credit Union in Franklin has modified their hours due to the coronavirus.  Hours will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday & 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturdays; their annual meeting on May 2nd has been postponed.
