Tax collections through the first half of the state fiscal year fell $1.3 billion or 3.5% from the same period a year ago, as personal income tax receipts, lagged behind expectations, according to a report by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. Tax collections through September 30, were below collections in five of the first six months of last year. Collections were $918.7 million lower than original projections in the Enacted Budget Financial Plan, but $11.3 million higher than the most recent projections.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that his office has created a Hotline to help troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues and barriers encountered by voters at the polls for the General Election on November 8. The Attorney General urges voters experiencing problems or issues at the polls to call the office’s hotline at 800-771-7755 or email civil.rights@ag.ny.gov at any time on Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

State Police arrested 59 year old Edward Henry of Milford for Forcible Touching, and Sexual Abuse, following allegations of subjecting another person to unwanted sexual contact without the victim’s consent. Henry was arraigned in the Town of Laurens Court and posted $1,000 bail and was released pending further court action. The investigation is ongoing.

The Arc Otsego will hold the 2nd Annual Hot Cocoa 5K Run & 1K Walk, Run & Roll Event at Neahwa Park in Oneonta Sunday. The Hot Cocoa 5K will begin at 10:15am in Oneonta’s Neahwa Park, go through the City of Oneonta, and end in Neahwa Park. The 1K run will begin at 9:30am, and will take place entirely within Neahwa Park. Participants in both races will have a cup of hot cocoa and other refreshments.
