Chenango County Health Department reported today that the number of Active Cases of COVID 19 is back up to levels they had in January & they have 593 quarantined. Health Department Spokesman Isaiah Sutton comments:

Sutton said that people need to be vigilant about wearing masks, social distancing, limiting large gatherings, and they should get fully vaccinated & get a booster shot if eligible, and those who feel ill should get tested for COVID. More information is available at 337-1673. Chenango County has

Afton Firefighters responded at around 4:00 AM today to 115 State Highway 41 for a barn fire/ Afton received mutual aid from the Bainbridge, Coventry & Harpursville Fire Departments, initial reports suggests that the building was a total loss.

Delaware County Public Health will be conducting a COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination clinic for ages 5 to 11 on Saturday at the DCMO BOCES- Harrold Campus from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, to register go to apps2.health.ny.gov. J&J vaccine will be available for walk-ins over the age of 18. Bassett Healthcare Network will be holding COVID-19 vaccination booster shot clinics, that will be open to the public. O’Connor Hospital in Delhi is holding a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic on Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the Moderna vaccine only. Appointments are required at 746-0525. Also, the FoxCare Center in Oneonta is holding a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, that clinic will provide boosters for Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 41-year-old Robert Smith of Walton and charged him with one count each of Criminal Mischief and Petit Larceny. Smith is accused of unlawfully removing the catalytic converter from a vehicle without owner’s consent which resulted in damage to the vehicle. Smith was released on an appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Walton Court at a later date.

Norwich Native Matt Beadle has formed a Billy Joel Tribute Band with top musicians in the state, and they will be performing in Norwich on Saturday November 20th at 7:30 PM the Martin W. Kappel Theater. Beadle told WCDO News about “The Billy Joel Guys” and about playing a concert back in his hometown:
