State Police are investigating the report of a missing person, 36-year-old Jaime Nieves of Binghamton. Nieves was last seen in the area of Park Avenue in the City of Binghamton on December 3rd, he has not had any known contact with friends or family. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the State Police at 775-1250.

The Oneonta City Clerk’s office announced that City Hall will be closed on Monday december 26th, meetings will continue on Tuesday at 5:00 PM with the Finance/ Human Resources committee meeting., in the Common Council Chambers.

The Chenango SPCA & The Guernsey Library in Norwich have teamed up for a program where donations of dog or cat food, of cat litter, will be used to eliminate overdue book fees at the library. More information is available at 334-4034.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office launched a Random Acts of Kindness Holiday Initiative this year, which involved Deputies engaging in random acts of kindness while on duty. Discretionary situations such as a broken tail light or other minor infraction would result in a presentation of a gift certificate instead of a ticket, all sponsored by the Deputies and local supporters. Deputies were on the lookout for citizens engaged in positive activity and would recognize them as well. The Delaware County Deputy Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association donated a sum of money to purchase gift cards and gift certificates from Delaware County businesses as well as also soliciting donations from Delaware County citizens, organizations and businesses; over $1,200 was received. Also, with the assistance of the Delaware County Office for the Aging, 12 elderly Delaware County residents were selected to be the recipients of Christmas gifts funded and purchased solely through a donation by the PBA.
