The Groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday on Delaware Avenue in Sidney, where Amphenol will build a new facility out of the flood zone.  Sidney Mayor Andy Matviak said that there were many partners in getting Amphenol to rebuild in Sidney:

State economic development director Ken Adams told the crowd yesterday that Governor Cuomo wanted Amphenol to remain in Sidney:

Officials said that there are a few last minute details to attend to, and then the construction will begin.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 29 year old Lisa Regg of Walton following a joint investigation with Cooperstown Village Police, the State Department of Health Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, & CVS Pharmacy.  Regg was charged with 1 count each of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, & Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, for allegedly possessing and presenting a forged Prescription form from Bassett Hospital at the Walton CVS and illegally obtaining and possessing a quantity of Hydrocodone.  Regg was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance after a search of her purse revealed Vicodin tablets.  Regg was arraigned and was remanded to the Delaware County jail on $3,000 cash bail pending a felony hearing Friday & other court action in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver announced the Farm workers Fair Labor Practices Act Monday, to improve the plight of the upstate farm worker:

The measure grants collective bargaining rights, workers’ compensation, disability and Unemployment benefits and other worker rights and protections to all farm workers, who were excluded from these protections as a result of a loophole in the New York State Labor Relations Act.

State Troopers in Sidney arrested 42-year-old James Bush of Otego for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The arrest was the result of an investigation of an ATV accident on Lower Green Street in the Town of Otego.  Bush was treated at Fox Hospital for non-life threatening injuries; he was issued an Appearance Ticket for Town of Otego Court on May 30th.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 50-year-old Kathleen Denario of Hobart for 3rd degree Burglary, 4th degree Grand Larceny & Petty Larceny.  Denario is accused of entering a residence in the Village of Stamford and removing items, she was arraigned in the Town of Stamford Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $4,000 cash bail, $8,000 property bond.
