The Delaware county board of supervisors have approved of a plan to build a new county recycling center at the solid waste site in Hamden. County DPW coordinator Sue McIntyre explain:

McIntyre said that they plan to break ground shortly, the construction should finish next year, and the county will be able to take #1 through #7 plastics, as there is a much larger demand to purchase these recyclables from the county.

A new poll from the Siena Research Institute shows that Governor Cuomo’s approval ratings are down to their lowest levels, 44% said that he was doing an excellent or good job, while 56% said that his work to be fair or poor. Despite the low ratings, Cuomo was more popular that the 3 Republicans most often named as potential candidates in the next gubernatorial election, those 3 are Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, state GOP Chairman Ed Cox and former candidate Carl Paladino.

State Troopers arrested 23-year-old Katrina Ellis-Seymoure of Walton for driving while impaired by drugs & driving while intoxicated with a child less than 16 years of age in the vehicle. State police investigated following the report of an erratic driver, they stopped Ellis-Seymoure on County Route 21 in Franklin. Ellis Seymoure is accused of driving while impaired by prescription medication, with her 4-year-old child in the vehicle; she faces court action on December 12th in Franklin town court.

The Chenango county sheriff’s office reports that Stolen items have been recovered following a recent investigation. The larcenies occurred from vehicles between the evening of November 5th and November 6th in the area of State Highway 41, Collyer Road & Cummings Road in the Town of Smithville. Anyone that had items stolen are asked to contact the department at 337-1932.

A delay in development of a new federal flood insurance program, to insure premiums are affordable, has prompted a group of federal lawmakers to introduce legislation to freeze any potential rate hikes. State police at Norwich arrested 42 year old Patrick Seeley of Norwich for criminal obstruction of breathing and 2nd degree harassment. The arrest resulted following a dispute on Dan Main Hill Road in Norwich, Seeley was arraigned in the Norwich town court and released on his own recognizance to reappear on November 21st. The judge issued an order of protection for the victim.

State troopers in Oneonta arrested 22-year-old Kelsey Knutsen of Oneonta for DWI with a BAC result of .16%, twice the legal limit. The arrest occurred after troopers initiated a vehicle stop on North Street in Oneonta, Knutsen was released with tickets to appear in the Oneonta town court on December 10th.
